About me
For the past decade, my family tended a vegetable garden that produced bountiful amounts of cucumbers, lettuce, green beans, tomatoes (just to name a few). We rarely bought vegetables from grocery stores, and it was such a delight to taste the fruits of our labor.
My curiosity with the food industry only grew with my increased awareness of climate change, questionable farming practices, and America’s rising food waste. When COVID hit, I volunteered at a farm to better understand what was going on in the industry — a shocking glimpse into survival of the fittest for farmers and restaurants.
I hope that by sharing my learnings, we can all work together to bring awareness to the people in the country feeding us, discuss how we can promote more sustainable practices, and think about how technology can shape this current landscape.
In the meantime, tell your friends!
